I have a British classical education. My qualifications are B.A. (Hons) magna cum laude in classics from Cardiff University, UK, 1978. M.Phil in classics from Swansea University (1994). My professional teaching qualification is a Post Graduate Certificate of Education issued by the British Government in 1980. I am published in Latomus, a world academic classics journal. I have 36 years teaching experience ranging from Grade 3 to university level. I have spent most of my life teaching A-level and undergraduate level at university in the UK. I spent eight years lecturing in classics at Swansea University in the UK and 27 years in state and private schools teaching examination classes for university entry. I know what is expected with regards to essay writing at university level. For the past few years I have worked as a private tutor in Latin, Ancient Greek, and English grammar here in the US.
